no I don't babe... I'm very picky with the songs i like.. I may not like all the songs on a band you know?...they had their time, but those and a few more are unforgettable!
That is one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE songs ! i LUV LUV LUV it ... so Thank You, sister, for this Great TREAT! and in return ... here's one for YOU ... not Quite as "Inspirational" maybe ... but a CLASSIC for sure ! hope you and ALL my Thuban peeps ENJOY it !
Thanks for answering my silly questions, darlin. there's so MUCH good music EVERYWHERE it seems ... it's hard to APPRECIATE it all as it is ... without spending the time to "track down" those from our Glory Days, i guess.
Inanna...Glad you liked Jethro Tull, and i agree, Ian Anderson is a brilliant song writer. Amazing performer on stage as well. Not sure what Tull and Anderson are up to these days, but Anderson lost the strength of his voice and sounds like Dylan these days... almost unbearable, sadly.
Cat Stevens... yes ' keep it in ' - Dragon Lady - ' all of it '...' within '. Not sure what he has done recently... but one of my favorite lyrics i like to quote from him is...
Break the ancient chains of your tomb And join the eternal womb
Xeia... Heart... those two sisters captured their male energy in a big way. Saw them live a couple times back in the day when they could ROCK it like any male band could... awesome as i remember.

4 Rivers -- i'd never heard THAT particular ELP song before ... pretty Cool! and Allisiam ... i'd never heard of Negative 0 before either ... INTERESTING ! i wish i could have caught the lyrics better in the 1st video, though. as for U2 ... they are also one of MY all-time favorites ! in fact ... i "saved them for last" in my concert today! LOVED that video where that girl got to lie on the stage with Bono ... LUCKY Woman!
4 Rivers ... i appreciate your info on Ian Anderson ... i had planned to tell you that i probably wouldn't MIND if his voice had "degenerated" to sound like Dylan's ... cause i kinda like those growly-grumbly voices ... LOL ... but i found this video a minute ago ... and he sounded pretty darn GOOD to me! it's a pretty cool video ... includes contemporary & vintage footage. This was ALWAYS one of my favorite "ditties" of his ... hope ya'll ENJOY !
Here's another one of my All-Time-Fav-o-rite Tunes ... i was LUCKY enough to get to seem the Eagles on their "Hell Freezes Over Tour" ... it was WONDERFUL ! and i LUV this ENTIRE album of Don Henley's ... hope ya'll Like It! (the Pitchers are Purty too!)
Yes Innana, i may have been a little hard on Ian. But i was talking about his voice when he needs to belt it out, like he used too. The strength of his voice is gone. Here is an example... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3khukNuF84Y& check the comments and you see others who feel the same.
Not sure what happened but he does seem to struggle to get those higher notes. The video you posted did not require him to belt it out, so yes, it sounded pretty good. Cool video too... looked like he invited some friends over for a little jam session over some tea and biscuits, in his living room one pleasant Sunday afternoon.
Don Henley is another great song writer... At the heart of the matter.
Ian probably has a BUNCH of reasons for not being able to sing like he could "back in the day" ... those were WILD times when many of us weren't too concerned about "damaging our instrument" ... ya know?! and then ... there's always the "aging process" as well. i know there ARE artists his age who can STILL "belt it out" (Sting comes to mind) ... and i'm IMPRESSED with their dedication to their art ... i'm sure it's taken work & discipline. but i guess i find some "charm" in the "less polished" specimens of voices myself ... like an John Prine, for example, or Bruce, Willie, Randy Newman, etc. maybe it's the BLUES Mama in me, i'm not sure ... and then there's the fact that i know EYE can't hit those "high notes" anymore myself ... LOL !
good to know you appreciate Don Henley's gifts too. i WANTED to post a Travellin Wilburys song ... but YouTube wouldn't LET me ... BooHoo! but i'll probably be back before long with SOMETHING ... cause i'm having FUN !
my boy, George, comes through to "Save the Day" for Nanna ... in a "funk." anyone who thinks FUN is a You-Tube concert ... while PBS news provides the background "vibe" is WELCOME to join me!
much love to mes Peeps!
Nanna
and i feel like This MUST come Next ...
This is an AWESOME slide show ... IF you're in-love-with George ... and it's an AWESOME song No Matter What! (singing along with Spanish sub-titles makes it even MORE Fun!)
Hark listen here he comes Hark listen here he comes Turning, spinning, catherine wheeling For ever changing There's no beginning Speeding through a charcoal sky Observe the truth we cannot hide
Travelling eternity road What will you find there? Carrying your heavy load Searching to find a piece of mind.
You'll see us all around You'll see us all around Turning, spinning, catherine wheeling For ever changing There's no beginning You're so very far from home And so very much alone
Travelling eternity road What will you find there? Carrying your heavy load Searching to find a piece of mind.
Travelling eternity road What will you find there? Carrying your heavy load Searching to find a piece of mind
Listen hear the sound The child away Wander all around The child away Now in his life he never must be lost No thoughts must deceive him In life he must trust
With the eyes of a child You must come out and see That your world's spinning 'round And through life you will be A small part Of a hope Of a love That exists In the eyes of a child you will see
Earth falls far away New life away Time it has no day New life away Here is your dream and now how does it feel No words will go with you And now what is real
With the eyes of a child You must come out and see That your world's spinning 'round And through life you will be A small part Of a hope Of a love That exists In the eyes of a child you will see
2 years before this song came out a friend and I dreamed of this song....the same night. We knew the Moody Blues were going to sing it.
"Your Wildest Dreams"
Once upon a time Once when you were mine I remember skies Reflected in your eyes I wonder where you are I wonder if you Think about me Once upon a time In your wildest dreams
Once the world was new Our bodies felt the morning dew That greets the brand new day We couldn't tear ourselves away I wonder if you care I wonder if you still remember Once upon a time In your wildest dreams
And when the music plays And when the words are Touched with sorrow When the music plays I hear the sound I had to follow Once upon a time Once beneath the stars The universe was ours Love was all we knew And all I knew was you I wonder if you know I wonder if you think about it Once upon a time In your wildest dreams
And when the music plays And when the words are Touched with sorrow When the music plays And when the music plays I hear the sound I had to follow Once upon a time
Once upon a time Once when you were mine I remember skies Mirrored in your eyes I wonder where you are I wonder if you Think about me Once upon a time In your wildest dreams In your wildest dreams In your wildest dreams
